The League of Women Voters of Livingston will present some interesting and informative events in September and October as the electoral season is upon us. On September 9th please join us for a Rank the Dessert event at 7 PM at the Livingston Senior Community Center. Attendees will sample and rank a range of desserts to gain better understanding of the ranked choice voting process now used in different parts of the country but not yet in New Jersey. Please RSVP at VCNJ.org/events.
On September 23rd the League will host a candidate forum for our District 4 representative for Essex County Board of County Commissioners featuring Adam Kraemer (R) and Leonard Luciano (D). Meet the candidates and learn more about our county government, beginning at 7 PM at the Senior Community Center on Hillside Ave.
On October 8th at 7 PM at the Livingston Senior Community Center, the League will host a Livingston Board of Education candidate forum with candidates Neal Ashinsky and Fang Gong who are running for one seat.
Please note these important dates: general election is November 3rd; on or about September 21st mail in ballots will be mailed to households; and October 13th is the last day to register for the November 3rd election.
Anyone who knows of a student away at college should make sure they have the ability to vote by mail and are aware of election dates. Please note that we still have the ability to vote by mail and be sure to either mail your ballot or use the secure drop box in back of town hall. Please mark your calendars with these events.
