Livingston Cops Bring Back Free ‘Citizens Police Academy’
The program helps to strengthen the rapport between cops and their community, Livingston police stated.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Police Department is bringing back its Citizens Police Academy, a free, 11-week program that gives residents a glimpse into the workdays and duties of their local police officers.
According to a news release from the LPD, the program helps to strengthen police-community rapport through an educational process, increase understanding of police practices and procedures, and dispose of misconceptions.
In turn, the LPD becomes more aware of the concerns and questions of the community it serves, police said.
