A Livingston principal who worked as a principal in Edison settled a discrimination-related lawsuit with his old district for $307K.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A principal in Livingston who recently worked as a principal in Edison has settled a discrimination-related lawsuit with his old district for $307,500, according to his attorneys.

Collins Elementary School Principal Timothy Hart sued Edison Public School District in 2017 after his contract was not renewed. The non-renewal followed emails centered on his sexual orientation sent by a school board member.

The Edison Board of Education approved the settlement this week and admitted no wrongdoing.
