LIVINGSTON, NJ — Do you need to visit a municipal building in Livingston? Don’t forget your face mask, officials say.

On Tuesday, Livingston officials announced that face coverings are required for anyone who enters a municipal building, such as Town Hall.

The announcement comes as many towns and cities across Essex County – and the rest of New Jersey – see a spike in new coronavirus cases. Some health experts have said the more contagious delta variant may be a big factor in the recent case rise.

According to county statistics, which may differ from local totals, Livingston has seen 1,913 cumulative COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday. The town has also seen 88 deaths linked to the disease.
