• Millions to be spent to help replenish three Monmouth beaches (app.com) — Long Branch's beachfront from north of Pier Village to Seven Presidents Park will receive part of a $38.3 million sand replenishment project starting this fall, funded mostly by federal dollars. Work should wrap up by March and aims to strengthen storm protection for residents, businesses, and visitors along Long Branch, Sea Bright, and Monmouth Beach.
   

• Ocean and Monmouth Counties: NJNG Energy Assistance Days are Coming to a Neighborhood Near You (tapinto.net) — Long Branch residents can meet directly with New Jersey Natural Gas and community agencies at the Long Branch Library on Broadway this fall to get help with energy bills. The free Energy Assistance Days across Monmouth and Ocean counties offer one-on-one guidance on grants, payment plans, and home weatherization programs, with bilingual staff available to walk you through applications.
   

• Routes 18 and 36 closed in Monmouth County due to storm damage: NJ weather (app.com) — Travelers near Long Branch should be aware that Route 36 is closed in both directions north of town because of flooding from a severe thunderstorm. A downed tree has also shut all northbound lanes of Route 18 in Marlboro, as officials warn of damaging winds, hail, and potential vehicle and property damage in Monmouth County.
