2 Cops Promoted Among 'Fine Quality' of Officers in Washington Twp.
Corporal, Sergeant selected from 12 interviews, sworn in at committee meeting.

Two of Washington Township’s finest took the next step in their careers as police officers recently when they were sworn in by the governing body and promoted as supervising officers.
Corporal Lucas Allen was promoted to Sergeant, and officer Michael Hade was promoted to Corporal after a round of interviews and certifications.
The township interviewed 12 different officers up for potential promotion before making its decision, and it was not an easy choice, according to Mayor Ken Short.

“We conducted a dozen interviews,” Short said to a town hall filled with family members and colleagues of the officers. “The scores were very close, and it made us proud to see such a fine quality of officers in our township.”
Vice Mayor and police commissioner Bill Roehrich echoed the mayor’s sentiments, saying, “You guys made this decision very hard. We have a very dedicated force.”

Only two officers could be promoted, and Hade and Allen came out on top. More than half of the department’s 28 members attended the meeting to support their colleagues.
