60 Heroin Bricks Found In North Jersey Car Crash, Police Say

The heroin was worth $12,000, police said.

KNOWLTOWN, NJ — Sixty bricks of heroin worth $12,000 were found in an overturned car on Route 80 earlier this month, New Jersey State Police said.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, State Troopers responded to a crash on Route 80 at milepost 7.6 in Knowlton Township. The car had overturned on the highway, but all three occupants were uninjured, police said. During the investigation, troopers found 60 bricks of heroin.

All three occupants were arrested: Azaiah Baynard, 21, of East Orange, Briauna Brown-Harrison, 21, of Perth Amboy, and Jamar Montalmant, 20, of Newark. All three were charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.; Montalmant was also charged with possession of paraphernalia, and an active arrest warrant.

All three were lodged at the Warren County Jail on no bail warrants.
