Beginner Mat Yoga Coming To Long Valley

The 11-week yoga series begins in April and is designed for all experience levels.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Washington Township Community Center has announced the start of a new yoga program designed to introduce residents to the foundations of the practice.

Beginner Mat Yoga sessions are scheduled to run for 11 weeks, beginning April 8 and concluding June 17. Classes will take place on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the municipal facility located at 35 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley.

The program is open to both newcomers and experienced practitioners who wish to focus on fundamental alignment and posture. Participants are instructed to bring a yoga mat, a towel or small blanket, two blocks, and a strap to each session.

Chairs will be available for those who require additional support, comfort, or stability during the exercises.

The course curriculum focuses on essential postures, breath work, and alignment principles to assist participants in building confidence.

The registration deadline for the upcoming session is April 6. Officials noted that late registrations will be subject to a $25 fee.

The center also stated that no new sign-ups will be accepted once the classes begin, and all fees paid for the program are nonrefundable.

Residents interested in participating are encouraged to submit a completed registration form via email. Those choosing to pay online may utilize the designated payment portal provided by the township.
