The Importance of Homecoming
Homecoming is one of the first big events of the school year.
Prom. Semi-Formal. Homecoming. These are all important events of everybody’s high school experience. They’re the memories that we are going to look back on and remember fondly, because we share them with our best friends and they are some of the best times we have in high school.
Last weekend was homecoming for West Morris Central. Even though we don’t have a homecoming dance, the football game is always packed with fans as the Wolfpack plays their hardest to win and as we crown our homecoming queen. In the beginning of the year, seniors nominate girls they think represent our grade well.
These are the ones who have made a difference in our community and who people respect and look up to. After the homecoming court is selected, all sophomores, juniors, and seniors vote for the candidates. The night of homecoming, during half time at the game, all of the candidates walk with their escorts and the queen is named.

Some students may think that this is superficial - just another popular and pretty girl getting attention by being named queen.
Regardless of these students, most people think of homecoming as a magical night filled with positive energy and students will remember always.

By rooting for our classmates on the football team and in the homecoming court, our class gets a chance to come together as we cheer each other on.
