How Green Is Our Township

Spring programs, activities and events to keep our Town Clean and Green.

April is getting off to a great start. The town Green Market is open again and is doing a lot of delicious business (baked goods, spices, organic foods, pastas, cheeses, wine and more.) Local farmers are opening their farm stands for the season and offering more ways for residents to get fresh products grown in NJ. Clean Communities Week is coming up and residents, scouts, civic and business groups can all register at DPW to help clean up a winter's accumulation of roadside debris. The Spring semi-annual paper shredding event is ready to go on Saturday April 21 at the DPW Garage on Rock Road. (I am getting rid of files from the 1990s that have built up in my basement and garage.) A series of environmental videos have been presented at the Town Library and programs on planting to pruning are being offered. The Town Ad Hoc Green team is researching everything from a Community Garden and Green Fair to agricultural and sustainable energy topics. Check out Patch, local newspapers, Town Website, Green Team on the Town and Face Book sites for events and activities.
