So far in camp number 5 of summer 2011, I have had 7 days of training! I have just been preparing to get my two different triple flips qualified so I can do them on snow this winter.
When you have to do a lot of triples, your skis do not hold up very well. Jumping 50+ feet up in the air and landing in water is not a normal thing for skis to go through, so I need to strengthen the skis I use by applying layers of fiberglass to them in order to stiffen them.
I had one of my teammates show me how to fiberglass today, and I'm excited to be able to do it on my own for next summer! Skis are always an ongoing struggle for me, especially through the summer. They constantly are breaking or about to break, and it's hard to have another pair ready all the time. Now that I know how to fiberglass though, I will be set for the next years.
The summer season is coming to an end, and the next stop is Park City, Utah in November for a trampoline camp with the U.S. Ski Team! I feel as though I will update before then, though.
