New Jersey Homestead Credit and Senior Freeze Programs Filing Deadline Oct. 31

State Tax Relief Programs for Homeowners and Senior Citizens are near filing deadlines.

Two New Jersey State programs that give some relief to Homeowners and Senior Citizens have a filing deadline of next Monday Oct. 31.

The Homestead Benefit eligibility is that you must have owned and occupied your home in NJ as of Oct. 1, 2010, and not have income over $75,000 if you are uder age 65 or income not over $150,000 if 65 or older. Information call (888) 238-1233 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays.

Senior Freeze program eligibility is for those age 65 or older, earning less than $70,000 and have lived in NJ for at least 10 years. Call (800) 882-6597 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for information weekdays.
