Sleeping In? What’s that?

Standardized testing week is great for seniors - we get to sleep in!

This week brings yet another reason why getting through 4 years of high school and being a senior really pays off. While all freshman, sophomores, and juniors were getting up normal time and taking standardized tests this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the seniors had 3 hour delays and spent their week sleeping in, going out to breakfast and enjoying their long awaited free mornings.

Every year, on test week, we would look at the seniors with jealousy and say “only a couple more years until we can sleep in!” And we finally got our year! Many students planned breakfasts and coffee runs with their friends at IHOP, The Chester Diner and Starbucks. After enjoying the morning, seniors would then roll into school sometime in the middle of lunch right before classes started. Then we
went through 6 shortened periods and went home with very little homework! It was a great week and a nice reward for the seniors. It’s always nice to have a little break and extra time to hang out with friends or catch up on that much needed sleep, especially since we are losing an hour of this weekend.

On another note (no pun intended), the school musical is next weekend! Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, at 7pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2pm. Tickets are $10 or $5 with a student ID. . It’s going to be a fun show! Be sure to buy tickets and come see the musical!
