Spring Clean Up Time For Our Neighborhoods?
Road and Street Side Trash Is Arriving Along With Spring
I don't know if it is just me, but with some warmer weather recently, our road sides and residential streets seem to be sprouting beer/soda/energy drink cans/bottles, food wrappers, cigarette packages, broken hand tools, cigarette butts, pizza boxes, "free" newspapers, etc. Maybe all the debris has been there all winter and I'm just noticing it now. A lot of the items are not only unsightly/unsanitary but represent trip hazards and possibly attract rodents. The Township's Clean Communities Week is coming up in April, and that gives us an opportunity to get rid of a lot of the debris but unfortunately our local litter bugs carry on their campaign year round. The Township Green Team has scheduled paper shredding and electronics disposal days over the next few months, the Town Recycling Center on Rock Road is open every Saturday if residents forget to put out recyclables for their trash collection company.TO THE LITTER BUGSIs it really so hard to hold onto trash until you get home, rather than toss it out the window of your car or truck? If you are walking someplace, does the weight of the soda bottle/beer can strain your body so you have to toss it on a neaby lawn or hedge rather than dispose of it properly? Take some time and get your trash to a disposal can. We have a nice town, please help keep it clean.
