The First of Many

Hey Patch-ers!

My name is Mike Rossi, I am 17 years old, and I am a member of the . I lived in Long Valley from when I was 1 until I was 14, when I moved away to persue Aerials in Park City, UT.

Last year I moved again, this time to Lake Placid, NY at the Olympic Training Center to continue my persuit of being the best in the world. My life consists of training hard, making music, and traveling all around North America for competitions.

I just got back from a town outside of Quebec City for a water ramp competition! In the summer we train at these special "Water Ramp" facilities, which are basically large, steep ramps going into a big pool, covered in an artificial snow surface (Here's a link to a video of the ramps in Lake Placid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jLq9xnuSUg).

The site in Quebec is one of only a few sites in North America, and it is by far the nicest. The competition was on Saturday, September 3rd, and I competed with two jumps- A single-twisting triple backflip, and a double-twisting triple backflip. I got scored well, but not well enough to make it to finals on Sunday, so instead I just stayed and watched. One of my teammates, who is from Rochester, NY, did make it to finals, and ended up getting 7th! It was very exciting!

This week is a week off for me, so I am at my home base here in Long Valley, just resting and recovering, getting ready for another 3 weeks of training up in Placid!
