The Senioritis Plague
The end of the school year means the end of schoolwork and the beginning of the celebration of our hard work these past 4 years!
It’s nearing the end of the school year. What does this mean? It means that students are now focusing more on things like Prom, Relay for Life, graduation, and college than schoolwork, tests, and projects. It’s a disease students like to call “Senioritis”.
Students in high level classes have been preparing for AP and IB tests the past few months, and now that these tests are finishing up, classes have become more low key and students are feeling less motivated to do schoolwork. They’re already in college, and there are more important things to focus on, like prom dresses, graduation plans, college orientations and roommate searches.

Seniors have fallen victim to Senioritis and it will only get worse as the year comes to a close. Since seniors are exempt from most finals, most believe that they are pretty much done with their schoolwork! Most teachers don’t “understand” that we’re done though, and pile on the work just as any time of the school year. Some students let their grades drop this last marking period, and some do just enough to get by with decent grades.
