WMC Senior Michelle Richar Says Hello
Michelle Richar gives her perspective on senior year in high school.
“The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating. The paths are
not to be found, but made.” – Anonymous
High school is the place where teenagers begin to create their identity and design their future. Constantly thinking of the journey that lies ahead, high school students walk through these four years constructing their individual roadmaps and finding the paths that will lead them where they want to go.
I am one of these teenagers. My name is Michelle Richar and I am a senior at West Morris Central High School. On my roadmap, I hope to see a path that says “become a successful journalist,” which is why I grabbed this opportunity to blog for Long Valley Patch with both hands. This blog is going to be a continuous record of my journey through my senior year of High School. I hope to provide people with information that they may not know about high school and the college application process and answer all questions that my readers may ask to the best of my ability. I am very excited to write this blog and I would like to start by introducing myself.

I am very involved in my school and my community. I belong to future educators, book club, the WMC newspaper, Girl Scouts, band and Reach (a program that introduces 8th graders to the high school). I am the co-captain of the color guard and the captain of my Relay for Life team. I also teach CCD with my mom and altar serve at my church. Needless to say, I am always very busy but I feel that my involvement in these activities will help me give a complete and in-depth description of the life of a high school student, which is my ultimate goal!
Feel free to ask questions or make comments. I plan to post every Friday.
