Kubert will be meeting fans and autographing copies of his entire body of work, including recent additions to DC Comics’ Joe Kubert Library: "Jew Gangster," "Yossel: April 19, 1943," and "Dong Xoal, Vietnam 1965."

Why Go: After last year’s comedy night was a sold out hit, The Black River Playhouse in Chester is hosting its second annual comedy night as a fundraiser for the Chester Theatre Group. The night will feature comedians Katherine Brower, Dan Hoffman, Fred Holzapfel, Julie McCormick, Karen Muha, Peggy Robinson and Phil Sweet.

Where/When: At 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the in Morris Township.
Why Go: Because there will be a concert and dancing with LaBamba and The Hubcaps, one of New Jersey's most successful and well-known bar bands. The opening act will be Philadelphia acapella group Quiet Storm.

Why Go: Because people are teaming up to send a truckload of relied supplies to the communities in Tuscaloosa that were devastated by the tornadoes last month. Non-perishable foods, water, cleaning supplies, paper products, tarps to cover roofs, school supplies, pet supplies and food, plastic storage containers, pots and pans, gently used children and teen clothing, among other things, are needed.

Why Go: Children ages 7 to 11 will get the chance to learn the basic skills of archeology and unearth some treasures of their own.

Girl Scouts Daisy Tea
Where/When: From 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday at Zion Lutheran Church of Long Valley.
Why Go: To learn about Girl Scouting; to enjoy songs, crafts and games; and to earn your first patch for attending. Girls must be accompanied by adults who will stay.

Where/When: From 7 to 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at 214 West Mill Rd. in Long Valley.
Why Go: The Fuzzbox is a place for students in grades 7 through 12 can hang out in a fun, supervised atmosphere where they can go to be involved in sports, games, music, art, and more, while being provided with free food and drinks. Fridays are for high school students and Saturdays are for middle school students.

Why Go: Children up to age 5 will learn why animals have big ears and how they use their tails.
