Cops: Inauthentic Police Materials May Have Been Sent to Long Valley Residents

Local police tell residents to call headquarters if authenticity of materials is in question.

The Washington Township Police Department has issued a statement warning residents to contact authorities if they receive material from the force that may not seem authentic.

“It has come to our attention that materials purporting to be issued by the Washington Township Police Department may have been disseminated to the public,” said Lt. Mark Niemynski.

“Only material on official Washington Township Police Department letterhead, authorized by senior officers identified by name and rank, constitute official statements of the WTPD,” Niemynski continued.
