Cops: Traffic Stop Uncovers Needles, Illegal Meds, $5K Warrant in Washington Twp.

Hackettstown man stopped on Route 46 for traffic violation, police report.

A Hackettstown man stopped for a traffic violation on Route 46 in Washington Township ended up with more than a ticket.

At 10:39 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, Washington Township Police Officer Derek Heymer stopped a Jeep SUV on Route 46 for a traffic violation, Lt. Doug Compton said.

When speaking with the driver, Ronald Ollerenshaw, 32, Heymer learned there was a $5,000 criminal warrant out for the driver’s arrest. During an investigation, Heymer also found three hypodermic needles, prescription drugs, and another $50 traffic warrant.

Ollerenshaw was arrested and charged with possession of hypodermic needles, possession of certain prescription drugs, active criminal warrant, and active traffic warrant.

Ollerenshaw was processed and released with a court date.
