Crack Cocaine Found During Long Valley Traffic Stop, Police Say

The passenger also had an active arrest warrant, police said.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Two men were arrested after police say they found crack cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop in Long Valley.

Isaac Hale, 18, from Budd Lake, and Edward Todd, 20, from Newtown, were both arrested after a traffic stop turned up the drugs, police said.

The two were pulled over on Sept. 11 at 11 p.m. for a traffic violation, police said. After police smelled marijuana, the car was searched and three vials of crack cocaine, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia were found belonging to Hale, police said.

During the investigation Todd allegedly gave police a fake name to hide an active arrest warrant. Both were arrested. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Hale was charged with possession of crack cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also given tickets for failure to maintain lane and having drugs in a car. He was released with an upcoming court date.

Todd was charged with hindering apprehension and hindering his own apprehension, and was taken to the Morris County Correctional facility to be taken in by the Sussex County Sheriff's Office.
