Detour Needed for Schooley's Mountain Paving Project Friday
Northbound motorists will be most impacted between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

It’s only been one day, but the milling and paving project on the northern end of Schooley’s Mountain Road has already hit an unexpected snag.
Washington Township officials announced late Thursday a detour will be set up Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to divert traffic around the area while crews continue to mill the one-mile stretch of roadway.
Motorists heading south from Hackettstown into Washington Township won’t be impacted by the change, but drivers heading north on Schooley’s Mountain Road will be detoured at the intersection of Flocktown Road out to Naughright Road and west on Rt. 46 to get back into Hackettstown.

The milling phase of the project is expected to be finished Friday. Paving on the roadway will begin Monday and end Tuesday, with striping of the road set for Wednesday.
Police are advising motorists to plan alternate routes altogether to avoid delays and congestion.
