Dog Left In Hot Car By Owner In Washington Township, Police Say

According to police, the dog was left in the parked car with the windows rolled up while the temperature outside was over 80 degrees.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Washington Township Humane Law Enforcement Officer arrested a man after they said he left his dog in a parked hot car on Tuesday, June 28.

The Hardwick man, who had not been identified publicly as of Tuesday afternoon, was charged with leaving his dog Rosco inside his vehicle with no air conditioning and the windows rolled up.

According to the Washington Township Police Department, the temperature outside was above 80 degrees.

A complaint summons was issued to the Hardwick man, and he was given a court date in Washington Township Municipal Court, police said.
