Drainage Repair to Shut Drakestown Road For One Week

Area will be closed to traffic between Naughright and River Roads.

A mile-long stretch of Drakestown Road in Washington Township will be shut for an entire week to traffic in order for an existing drainage system to be repaired.

Washington Township Police announced the roadway will be closed from Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16 between Naugright Road and River Road.

Local residents will be able to access Drakestown Road from either side, but the roadway will be closed to through traffic, police said.

The Morris County Department of Public Works Division of Engineering is conducting the repairs. Police are asking resident to plan alternate routes and expect delays in the area.
