LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Washington Township officer assigned to DWI patrol arrested an Avenel man after a traffic stop that police said began with speeding and a lane violation.
According to police, the officer stopped the driver after observing him traveling at an excessive speed and failing to maintain his lane of travel in Washington Township.
Following a roadside investigation and the administration of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, according to the department’s statement.
