
The "3rd Annual Taste of the Town and Silent Auction," Long Valley
Competition Cheerleading Squad's biggest fundraiser for the season, will
be held on Friday, January 21st, at Hoffmann Hall (Chester Fire House) on
Main Street in Chester, 6:30 pm - 9:30pm. This "Taste of the Town"
promises to be a culinary extravaganza. The event also hosts a silent
auction. Items up for auction include vacation property rental, tickets
to the theatre, an air hockey table, sport memorabilia, fine jewelry, and
gift certificates for local merchants, restaurants and services. The
list of anticipated participating restaurants is growing every day and
includes Prickly Pear Restaurant, Valley Restaurant, The Black Horse Inn,
Fresco Mexican, J. Emanuel Chocolatier,The Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe, Mama's
& Cafe Baci, Mack's Place, The Pizza Pub, Da Noi, High Mountain Foods,
Zebu Forno and Palmeras Restaurant. Cash bar. Tickets are $30 prior to

The Long Valley Competition Cheerleading Association is proud to announce
the addition of the Satellite Competition Squad to their roster this
season. This squad is comprised of eleven second through fourth graders
that will begin competing in January. Their season will conclude in March
at the Mardi Gras Nationals in Hershey, PA. This year's Competition
Squad, is comprised of 15 girls ranging from 4th through 8th grade.
These girls are already off to a great start having earned 1st place and
Overall Recreational Grand Champion at there first competition of the
season and 1st Place at the Winter Wonderland Competition in Bethlehem,
PA, Stabler Arena and this weekend they added another notch on their belt
with their most recent 1st Place win at the competition in their home
town Long Valley. In February they will head to Cheersport Nationals in
Atlanta, GA. They will also be participating with their sister squad at
the Mardi Gras Nationals. The proceeds from this event will help to
defray the costs incurred by both squads participating in both local and
national competitions.
