Farmer Stole Scarecrow, Hackettstown Police Say

Police say the scarecrow was taken from a local business.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A woman with the last name Farmer stole a scarecrow from a local business, Hackettstown police said.

Amanda Farmer, 25, allegedly took the scarecrow from a Hackettstown business that was participating in a scarecrow contest. Police say they found her walking on the sidewalk carrying the scarecrow at 2 a.m. on Oct. 29. Police say they recognized the scarecrow as belonging to a nearby business.

Farmer was charged with disorderly conduct and released with an upcoming court date.
