Fire Destroys Washington Twp Home

WASHINGTON TWP, NJ— An early morning fire destroyed a family home in Washington Township Friday, police said in a statement.

Washington Township Fire Companies responded to a fire on a Schooley's Mountain Road home at 1:25 a.m. on Friday, police said. All members of the house were safely evacuated.

The home is uninhabitable, and the cause is still under investigation. It does not appear to be suspicious.

Hackettstown, Califon, Tri-County, Allamuchy, Chester, Budd Lake and Netcong Fire Companies assisted, along with the Long Valley and Budd Lake First Aid Squads.
