Heroin, Needles Found During Traffic Stop: Washington Twp Police
The man also had active warrants for his arrest, police said.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Heroin and hypodermic needles were found inside a Florida man's car during a traffic stop Tuesday night, Washington Township Police said in a statement.
Police found ten bags of heroin and one hypodermic needle during the stop in Califon Boro Tuesday night. The driver, a 22 year-old Florida man, also had outstanding warrants for his arrest, police said.
Police pulled a car over for a motor vehicle violation on Main Street at 7:16 p.m. Tuesday night in Califon Boro. The driver refused to show any identification, being more nervous as the conversation with police went on, police said.

A K-9 dog, Cliff, helped police find the heroin and hypodermic needle, police said.
Using "investigative means," police determined the man was Edward J. Balcom II from Sarasota, Florida. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

Balcom was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic needle and providing false information, and issued motor vehicle complaints for failure to keep right and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside of a motor vehicle.
He is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility.
