Heroin Overdose Reversed, Heart Attack Victim Saved: WTPD

Washington Township Police helped save two lives over the weekend.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township Police helped save two lives over the weekend, police said. One person was suffering from a heart attack, and the other was overdosing on heroin.

Friday afternoon, police were called to a West Maple Ave home for an unresponsive 77-year-old. The woman was not breathing when police arrived, and they started CPR. She regained a pulse, police said, and she was taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center by the Long Valley First Aid Squad.

The next day, police were called to a Fairview Ave home for an unresponsive 33-year-old man. Police administered two doses of Narcan to reverse a heroin overdose, they said, and the man regained consciousness. He was treated by the Long Valley First Aid Squad and paramedics from St. Claire’s at the home, and was not taken to the hospital.
