Long Valley Man Accused Of Drunk Driving In Mt. Olive

Mount Olive police say they pulled him over after seeing him swerve on the road.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Long Valley man was found driving drunk with heroin in the car, Mount Olive police said on Friday.

The man was pulled over just after midnight on Friday morning while traveling on Route 46. Police say he smelled strongly of alcohol, and they suspected he was impaired.

He was arrested and taken to headquarters, where he was given a breathalyzer. Police allegedly found two glassine folds with heroin and two straws.

He was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. He was released to a sober adult with an upcoming court date.


Update: Charges have been dismissed.
