Long Valley Man Found Guilty in Wife's Death
Stephen Scharf was accused of pushing his wife off a cliff.

Stephen Scharf, 60, of Washington Township, was found guilty by a jury in Bergen County on Friday for pushing his wife off a cliff in 1992.
Scharf was put on trial 19 years after the murder took place, when Jody Ann Scharf was found dead at the bottom of Rockefeller Lookout in Bergen County. Prosecutor John Molinelli brought the case to court, saying new evidence had been found, and an indictment was handed down in 2008, according to a report in dailyrecord.com.
Scharf maintained his innocence throughout the seven-week trial and now faces a possible life sentence.
