Long Valley Man Pled Guilty To Weapons Charges: Report
The man was accused of pointing a rifle at a sneezing teenager who was "being loud."

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Washington Township man pled guilty to weapons charges stemming from a June 2016 incident where he pointed a loaded rifle at teenage boys for being "too loud," the Daily Record reported.
James A. Appis, 45, pled guilty to one count of being a person not permitted to have weapons. After an August 2010 road rage incident where Appis caused $12,000 worth of damage to a Chester woman's car, Appis was banned from owning weapons.
Appis will be sentenced in July, according to the report. Possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of an assault weapon, and illegal possession of ammunition magazine charges will all be dismissed at the time of sentencing.

Three boys were outside near Appis's Washington Township home when one sneezed. The man, later identified as Appis, allegedly told the boys to stop being loud after the sneeze, and later pointed a gun at them out of his window, as Patch previously reported. A search warrant later turned up a Rugar 22 caliber rifle with a high-capacity magazine that allowed for 25 rounds of ammunition. Both the rifle and magazine were empty.
