Long Valley Teen to Star in 'Les Miserables' at Mayo PAC

The Mayo Performing Arts Center on South Street in Morristown has hosted some of the world’s greatest performers.

And this weekend, it’s pulling out all the stops to showcase the area’s best young talent in a production of Les Miserables.

Ellie Baker, 17, of Long Valley, will be at the center of the award-winning musical during four performances to close out the month.

Baker has been cast as Fantine, the young girl left to fend for herself and her daughter after being abandoned by her lover.

The set has been imported from Las Vegas, and the cast includes 60 young performers, an orchestra, and is led by Cathy Roy, the MPAC Education Director. Some 300 children auditioned for the musical when it was cast this past winter.

The performances will take place on May 29 at 7:30 p.m.; May 30 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; and May 31 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $20 or $25 and can be ordered by calling the box office at 973-539-0345.
