Long Valley Woman Was Drunk During Crash: Police

Police say she did not provide a breath sample.

LONG VALLEY, NJ— A Long Valley woman was drunk when her car crashed off the side of the road, Washington Township Police said.

Allison Schmitt, 50, drove her car off the road near 232 Old Farmers Road on Jan. 21, police said. She was not injured, but appeared to be intoxicated.

According to police, Schmitt failed a field sobriety test and did not provide police with breath samples. She was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

Schmitt was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, reckless driving and failure to provide breath samples. She was released to a responsible adult, pending a court date in Washington Township Municipal Court.
