Man With Loaded Gun Arrested In Long Valley: Police

LONG VALLEY, NJ— An Ohio man was arrested in Long Valley this weekend for having a loaded gun, Washington Township Police said.

Lucian Clewell, 42, of Lisbon, Ohio was pulled over on Bartley Road for a traffic stop on Jan. 28.

Police learned that Clewell had a Glock handgun in his possession, and had documentation to carry it from the State of Ohio. The handgun was loaded, police said, which is illegal.

"He is not allowed to have the gun loaded in NJ," Lieutenant Douglas Compton told Patch. "He can transport it as long as it is safely secured separate from any ammunition."

Clewell was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. He was released with a pending court date in county court.
