Man Stole Jewelry in Pleasant Grove Road Home Break-In, Cops Say
Somerville man lodged in jail on $50,000 bail.

A Somerville man has been arrested and charged with breaking into a Long Valley home this week and allegedly stealing jewelry, Washington Township Police said.
Sgt. Lucas Allen and Officer Thomas Falleni responded to a home on Pleasant Grove Road at 11:26 a.m. for a reported burglary that had occurred earlier in the day, Lt. Doug Compton said.
During the investigation it was revealed jewelry had been stolen from the master bedroom, Compton said. While on scene, officers were able to determine a primary suspect, Barry Martin, 44, with help from Readington Township Police, Compton said.

As a result, Martin was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Further investigation by Det. Michael Hade recovered proceeds taken from the residence.
Martin was charged with burglary and theft of moveable property. Police did not say why Martin was in the area.

Martin was lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail with a pending court appearance.
