Man Wanted For Gun Possession Found in Washington Twp.: Cops
Traffic stop leads to warrant arrest for Paterson man, police report.
A Paterson man wanted on a warrant for possession of a handgun out of Union County was found by Washington Township Police last week, Lt. Doug Compton said.
On Nov. 10 at 7:20 p.m. Officer Adam Feichter stopped a vehicle on Route 46 for failing to maintain its lane and having both license plate lights out, Compton said.
Feichter spoke with the driver, identified as Mohammad Ahmad, 22.

A search of Ahmad’s name revealed he had an active warrant issued for his arrest out of the Union County Sheriff’s Department for a prior charge of possession of a handgun, Compton said.
Ahmad was placed under arrest and taken back to Washington Township Police Headquarters where he was issued a motor vehicle complaint for maintenance of lamps. He was then turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Department.
