Missing Woman Found In Morris County Woods

MOUNT OLIVE, NJ — After being missing for over 24 hours, a Mount Olive woman was located safely in the woods, Mt. Olive police said.

The woman, a 57-year-old Budd Lake resident, was last seen on Saturday at 11 a.m. Her husband called police at 9:45 p.m. that night to report her missing. She had left her phone and car at home, and officers believed she was in the area on foot.

A tip pointed police to the Sand Shore Road area, and the woman was found in the woods behind the Sand Shore School around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. She was uninjured, but taken to St. Clare’s Hospital Denville Campus by the Budd Lake Rescue Squad for evaluation, police said.

Morris County K-9 officers, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Office of Emergency Management, and NJ State Police Helicopter, North Star all assisted the Mount Olive Police Department.
