Morris County Man Sexually Assaulted Intoxicated Teen, Prosecutor Says

Parsippany man allegedly admitted to police he committed crime, authorities say.

A Parsippany man has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and related crimes for allegedly having sex with an intoxicated teen girl after buying her alcohol, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced.

Jorge Perez, 31, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Perez was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into the incident that allegedly occurred in November, Knapp said. Perez bought alcohol for the girl and then had sexual intercourse with her after she had become intoxicated, Knapp said.

The teen and another person came forward and alerted authorities, Knapp said, and Perez allegedly admitted to police having sex with the 14-year-old after she had been drinking alcohol, Knapp said.

Perez has been lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000 bail with no 10-percent option.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Parsippany police department.

The charges come two days after Patch reported Parsippany as having the second most registered sex offenders in all of Morris County, with 22. Those registrants include tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 offenders as provided by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. Learn more here.
