Rabid Raccoon Euthanized In Washington Township
Residents should still be cautious, police said in a statement.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ— A rabid raccoon was captured and euthanized in Washington Township last Friday, Washington Township Police said in a statement posted to Facebook.
The raccoon, which was first spotted early morning on April 13, was spotted later in the day on a Kings Highway home. Police responded to the home and disposed of the raccoon, they said.
Although police believe the raccoon is the same as the one seen earlier that day, they still urge residents to be cautious. Anyone who sees or comes in contact with a possibly sick animal should contact the Washington Township Police Department at 908.876.3232 and press “0”.
