Rain Can't Stop Reels at Annual PBA Fishing Derby

The rain drops hit the pond and the so did the hooks on Saturday, June 27, as some 60 youngsters from Washington Township and Califon came out to reel in the biggest catch of the day.

While the weather slowed the total number of competitors vying for prizes in three separate age categories, the showing was still strong for the police-hosted event, which also offered food and drinks to participants.

Officers Ryan Olah, Daniel Parrish, Derek Heymer, Tom Falleni. John Wurtemberg, Scott Myers, and Special Officer Marty Mitkus, along with Cpls. James Burns and Michael Hade, Sgt. Tim Madden, and Lieutenants Mark Niemynski and Jeff Almer were all on hand to help with the event.
