Road Improvement Project On Washington Township Committee Agenda

The committee meeting will take place on Monday, June 20 at 7 p.m.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A future road improvement project will be discussed at the next Washington Township Committee meeting, along with applications for three upcoming township events.

According to the council agenda, the proposed ordinance calls for the council to award a contract to the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the first phase of an improvement project on Kings Highway Road.

It was also recently announced that the Township will preserve 52 acres of land purchased from the west side of Kings Highway Road and will eventually become part of the public trail system.

In addition, the council will discuss three upcoming community events.

The first is the Long Valley First Aid Squad Coin Toss, which is scheduled for Sept. 24 and will raise funds for much-needed equipment. The council will also consider an application for a NorwesFest fundraiser at Ort Farms on June 25 and a private block party to commemorate the Long Valley Fire Company's 100th anniversary.

The committee will be meeting at the Washington Township Municipal Building, 43 Schooley’s Mountain Road.
