Sandy Hook Survivor To Speak At Morris County Event

The Sandy Hook Elementary School teacher will speak at a Morris County event.

ROCKAWAY, NJ— A teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School at the time of the school shooting will speak at a Morristown event next month.

Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis was a first grade teacher during the events of Dec. 14, 2012, where 20 students and 6 adults lost their lives. She is now a public speaker and author.

Roig-DeBellis will speak at the Morris County Active Shooter Response Summit, a community based event that will teach active shooter response tools. The summit is on Thursday, March 9, from 7-9 p.m. at Christ Church in Rockaway.

Representatives from the Morris County Prosecutor's office, N.J. Office of Homeland Security, and Morris County Office of Emergency Management are among the other speakers.

The Summit is free, but registration is required.
