'Tromp' To Stomp Pancreatic Cancer Rides Through Long Valley
Fundraiser begins on Schooley's Mountain Road Aug. 30.

The final weekend of August will be an important one in Long Valley, as community members come together for a great cause.
On Aug. 30 the fifth annual Columbia Trail Tromp will take to one of New Jersey’s longest and most-used pathways to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. The event is being organized by the Long Valey Village Association in partnership with the Washington Township Health Department, and serves as a memorial for Bill Harrington, Sr., who last his life battling the disease.
The event is open to cyclists and walkers alike, with bike riders hitting the trail at 7 a.m. and walkers taking their turn at 8:30 a.m. Participants will begin at the trail head on Schooley’s Mountain Road.

The route takes its way through Califon and into High Bridge, then heads back to Long Valley for a total distance of 24 miles. A shuttle bus from Califon and High Bridge will be available if participants choose to take part in a portion of the event.
Parking for the event will be available at the Long Valley Middle School with shuttle buses provided to the trail head at 24 Schooley’s Mountain Road.

Pre-registration for the event is required and can be done at lvva.org. A $20 donation per person, or $50 donation for a family (up to four participants) will get each person a t-shirt and goody bag.
