Two Women Busted With 41 Bags of Heroin in Washington Township

Officers found 41 bags of heroin, 18 hypodermic needles, and numerous drug paraphernalia, police said.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two women were busted with 41 bags of heroin, 18 hypodermic needles, and numerous drug paraphernalia on East Avenue in Washington Township on Oct. 4.

At 11:29 p.m., a Washington Township Police Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2006 Chevy Malibu for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, Jessica Lawless, was speeding and not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

When the officer talked to Lawless, he noticed a hypodermic needle in the driver side door compartment, police said.

The front seat passenger, Kimberly Bradley, and Lawless were removed from the vehicle so officers could conduct a search inside the vehicle, and of the two women.

Officers found 41 bags of heroin, 18 hypodermic needles, and numerous drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and on the women.

Lawless was charged with a Criminal Complaint for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles. She was also issued Motor Vehicle Summons for speeding, failure to wear seatbelt and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Bradley was issued a Criminal Complaint for Possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles.

The women were eventually released and both received mandatory court dates at the Morris County Superior Court, police said.
