Washington Twp Police Hosting Gift Card Drive For Hurricane Harvey Victims

They're not accepting any goods besides gift cards at this time.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Washington Township Police Department is hosting a gift card drive to benefit those affected by Hurricane Harvey, police announced on Facebook.

Gift cards to any big box stores, such as Lowes, Home Depot, or Target, are being accepted, as well as pre-paid cash cards, police said. Held in partnership with the local PBA, gift cards can be dropped off at headquarters to either Chief Jeff Almer or PBA President Derek Heymer.

"Thanks to some law enforcement connections in Texas, the donated gift cards will be sent directly there and distributed by law enforcement personnel, ensuring that not only do they reach the victims, but that 100% of your donation goes to them as well," police wrote.
