Who is Long Valley's Person of the Year in 2014?

Patch is bestowing its third annual honor, but we need you to decide who it is.

In a town that is fueled by volunteer first responders and coaches, teachers with decades of experience, and business owners who give back to the community, Washington Township is rich in unsung heroes.

For the past two years Long Valley Patch has asked you, the community, to nominate Long Valley’s Person of the Year. In 2012 you chose Glenn Lightner, the courageous teen who succumbed to brain cancer at age 14. Last year, you chose Mary Cowap Eichler for donating her kidney to a neighbor.

As we turn the page on 2014, there are hundreds more options, as usual, to name our person of the year. But we want to hear from you and see who you think it should be.

Maybe it’s Brendt Migliaccio, the Long Valley teen who died earlier this year from a years-long battle with medullablastoma. On the other end of the spectrum could be Tracy Tobin, the township committeeman who is completing his final year in elected office after nearly 40 years.
