LONG VALLEY, NJ — An Elmwood Park woman was charged with assaulting a police officer after she allegedly hit and spit on officers following a drug possession arrest, Washington Township Police said.
Police say Lesley Campos, 21, was a passenger in a car on Route 46 when they pulled over so she could urinate. Police say Campos took the car keys and threw them into the woods, and the driver and Campos were unable to find them.
Police say the two smelled like marijuana and a joint was visible in the car. Campos allegedly took ownership of the joint, and was arrested and taken to police headquarters.
