Coastal Monmouth Beach Report For July 13, 2016

A decent beach day ahead with a low risk of rip currents.

The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies today with temperatures in the lower 80s.
Beach winds will be from the south at five to 10 miles per hour.

The surf will be from two to three feet, with light swells. The surf temperature is 72 degrees.

The rip current risk for today is low, But strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with them.

There is no lightning threat today. The UV index is a nine, so bring the sunscreen.

Low tide at Belmar was at 8:47 a.m. High tide will occur at 3:09 p.m., followed by another low tide at 9:31 p.m.
